Cuba Study Trip

In May, 2000, several PFI members were part of a group that visited Cuba.  The trip was sponsored by Iowa State University and its intended purpose was to explore institutional relationships around research, education and extension.   Practical Farmers of Iowa was included as a model of farmer-to-farmer communication and because of its interest in sustainable agricultural systems.  Cuba is pursuing a sustainable agriculture that features input-substitution, integrated farming systems, and urban farming.

These pages are primarily for the trip participants to share photos and comments.  Others are welcome to take part, but please don't expect a polished product.  Additional photos from trip participants will be gladly posted on request.  Please email them to Rick Exner, or send a print for scanning.  Comments and requests are also welcome in the discussion area.  (Specify the "photo swap" topic category.)
