for many specialty markets as well as many producers across the spectrum
of swine production. He has seen that the sustainable hog producer
needs to have a special strategy to succeed – a strategy based on
high-margin and low-volume, just the opposite of the conventional system
production philosophy. Dave tells how to make that succeed. |

Dr. Kurt Van Hulzen is a veterinarian who
takes the time to get to know a client’s production system and
management style. Kurt works methodically with alternative
producers to eliminate disease outbreaks and to restructure the system
for herd health. Kurt’s talk previews the forthcoming Herd
Health Guide for Alternative Swine Systems that he is helping to
produce. |
